On Saturday we headed towards Annapolis to check out the annual Rennfest. We've never been to a renaissance fair before so we were mesmerized by all the trinkets & costume apparel we saw. I immediately ran to the braid hut - aka #braidbar - to get my hair fixed. We chomped on turkey legs, drank cool summer brews & screamed HUZZAH for our knight during the jousting tournament.

+NINERS BABY!

WE happily joined the rest of the world and glued ourselves to the tv for football Sunday. Yes, we were those people who had a gigantic tv playing the main game (49ers vs Packers) with smaller tvs - laptops to be exact- playing other games so that we could keep up our fantasy picks. I say "we" when in actuality it's Chris' fantasy football team. I'll just stick to the real game and not fantasy. We braced ourselves as we headed over to Steve & Ash's place, the Packer domain including other Pack-rat fans to watch the game. You know that annoying fan who keeps clapping for the other team for EVERY good call called at the game? Yep, that was us, clapping our way to a win in the Packer lair. And, Dougie had the time of his life running around the company packed into his home.

+Concert in the Park

Chris and I spent the afternoon in Rosslyn at the 23rd annual Jazz Festival. It was the perfect day to spend outside with the weather reaching a comfortable 75 degrees with light humidity. Different styles of jazz bands entertained the crowd ranging from soul Gospel influences to Latin jazz percussionists that got the crowd on their feet dancing salsa. Watching their fluid movements makes me wish I had the flavor to dance the latin jive. I guess I'll stick to my shoulder rolls.

+Fantasy Football

With summer winding down, fall is just around the corner and that means, football season is about to start. The 49ers will be playing their opening game this sunday and we couldn't be happier. I love me some Patrick Willis and Colin Kaepernick!! Tonight, Chris and his flag football team hosted a live fantasy draft at a local pub in Alexandria. For the last 3 years, this group has hosted a live fantasy football draft outfitted with a winner's trophy with your name on it!

+Labor Day Weekend

Can you believe it's September already? Labor Day weekend came and went with lots of fun + rest & food for our bellies. Hope yours was just as fun
